ABC Women’s Self-Defense
STOP Rape – Assault – Abuse – Domestic Violence
“I’ve seen it all in the movies and read it in the papers. But those things happen to others and not to me – or so I thought…”
Is this you? Just think about the world we live in today. Not to scare you, but realize this fact – 1 in 5 women will be involved in a violent domestic or sexual attack in their lifetime. That means if it’s not you, it’s someone you know, a family member, friend, or coworker. No one is immune to violence. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you live, where you go to school, how much money you make…Doesn’t it make sense to know how to be AWARE and also be PREPARED before it’s too late?
The ABC Women’s Self-Defense Course is a dynamic and intensive program that covers the 3 basic but critical areas of self-protection for women.
AWARENESS- Learn the statistics and facts behind violence against women and how and when it happens;
BOUNDARIES – Learn how and when to say NO and how to avoid dangerous situations; and
CONTACT- Learn the physical skills necessary to protect your self and your loved ones in a violent encounter.
Focusing on efficient and effective techniques, this training ranges from basic grab and mugging attacks to rape defenses. The ABC Women’s Self-Defense Course also discusses avoidance and the psychology of the attacker.
Informational resource material will be provided as well as physical, hands-on skill training. Attendees should be in reasonable physical condition, dress in comfortable clothing and sneakers, and expect to participate in all exercises and scenarios. This class is VITAL for women of all ages (recommended ages- 13 and older).
